My lockdown, my plate and My heart – How the lockdown promoted unhealthy.

My lockdown, my plate and My heart – How the lockdown promoted unhealthy.

COVID-19 has not changed just the world but also changed our life, with this lockdown due to covid we all had drastic changes in our life, I think each and everyone of us might have observed many changes in our emotions mental condition, and the environment too, but all these changes led to change in our daily life routine.

While dealing with continued lockdown and seeing threatening news everyday of earthquake, unemployment, roll owing power outrages and too many mental health problems- all these amidst of pandemic has disrupted our daily routines, our eating habits, sleeping time and working hours everything was improper.

This lockdown has huge impact on my eating habits and lifestyles changes.

As lockdown led us to remain at home- where staying at home and doing everything from home led to digital education, work from home, no outdoor activities and no physical activities and above all these we all had stockpiling food due to restriction in buying grocery.

Due to lockdown we all had online education and too much of stress because of continuous hearing about COVID-19  on news and increasing number of cases of coronavirus.

Due to online classes and staying at home I was too lazy to wake up early, to have proper timing to have the breakfast, lunch and dinner. I may wake up at 9.00 to 9.30am, and then sit for my online classes for hours and then have the breakfast at 11.30-12.00pm. such kind of daily routine at lockdown led to irregular sleep and unhealthy eating habits. Sometimes my irregular scheduled life led me to eating faster at time, sometimes skipping the meal because of online classes and use of social media.

The lockdown has exacerbated some existing real life issues of my life, I have tried various types of food for suppressing all the negative thoughts and it have feeling of fullness, as many people were trying new recipes everyday, I tried the same to be chef-like , trying different cuisine with all available essential food ingredients at home.

Trying all different kinds of cuisine like pizza, sandwich, bread, baking sweets , burger etc. and enjoying that meal with no fixed time to eat led to promote unhealthy lifestyle for me.

“amidst the calm in air, hustle in the kitchen, a plate full of different ingredients and a stomach awaiting to eat”.. was my story during this lockdown.

As I consider cooking as one of my hobby, thought to try all cuisine which I haven’t ever tried before. I have tried making many different kind of snacks like pasta, marinara sauce, side dishes, food with peanut butter, jerky, string cheese, carrots, popcorn, wheat bread etc.

Eventually unhealth lifestyle or unhealthy eating habits not good for long.

So, with time I choose to grow healthy “as health is wealth” as immunity is only guard to protect us from this virus.

“Investing on health, is best investment anyone can have”.

Once you realize this when we feed our body with unhealthy food and unbalanced lifestyle, we will have a unhealthy life too.

As o good life needs good health and good health requires healthy eating habits.

I have taken few steps to change my unhealthy eating habits to a health one-

1.  Having proper customized diet plan for myself as well as for my family to invest on my health.

2.  Doing some physical activities in my daily routine which helps to improve my metabolic system and as well as strengthen my muscles.

3.  Avoiding the screen time spending on social media, helped a lot to me to keep my mind stable and take out time for all necessary things.

4.  Drinking plenty of fluids which helped me to all toxics and provide necessary mineral to my body.

5.  Started eating green veggies and fruits.

6.  Doing mediation for 30 minutes which help to keep my mind and soul stable.

Life is about living the moments, but to enjoy each every moment you need to be healthy.

Stay healthy, stay safe…..
