My lockdown, My plate, My heart

Wait, just a second is your heart listening, your tongue taste? 

Its 4 p.m. and I am craving for burger and pizza. This craving feel is same with many people,  especially these days when we all have one of those days, where we got stuck in our homes and there is nothing new except, scrolling social media content and customizing our own food plate. Everyday I used to wakeup, having fight with my own body parts as my tongue says "I need taste today", heart says "do you even care for me" and brain says but, "shivi there is nothing interesting these days, then having yummy food". So every morning, I just go to my kitchen and see the things to cook, which makes my taste bud to dance on the flavor of  my prepared food and eventually makes my day. I always try my hand on making new dishes like, spicy manchurian, red sauce pasta, momos and even the chocolate dipped cakes. I really felt happy and relaxed after eating, but my flavored dipped tongue never asked my heart once, weather is it safe to eat so much unhealthy food or not?


I  know that even myself, is eating out of boredom which is extremely annoying because of this reason, I have seen major change in my body weight during this lockdown period. My eating habit certainly taken unhealthy turn for the worst and this was I got to realized when one fine day, I tried my one beautiful outfit and trust me, its really hard to put that outfit then I checked my weight and got to know that my weight is increased by 6 kg which is not good for my heart and especially when it comes to my own body and that's where I decide, to eat healthy and make my heart healthy, then I learn to make new healthy food stuffs like fruit chart, and other fancy stuffs which includes fruit desert, vegetable rolls and I started loving it.


My main concern at this point is to drop unhealthy eating habits and adopt healthy eating lifestyle which keeps your heart healthy. Give a look here are few things, which I am following in my daily routine. Believe me its not that hard to change unhealthy dietary habits, that doesn't serves you and keep your body healthy. If you have the crave for your "vivacious life", then I am sure you are not having the crave for the "unhealthy eating lifestyle".

How do I am dealing with my eating habits:

  • Noticing my eating habits: That's always a first step, if I don't noticed myself that, I am going on the verge of bad health by eating highly processed and oily food then I cant, make the headway. If you might caught up in such kind of eating cycle which lead to so many, risk factors like heart disease, so it becomes easy for you to float your plate with healthy food stuff everyday.
  • Counter with positive thoughts: Instead of thinking of taste of my own tongue, I think about the diet which pleased my mind and heart as well and correlate with higher level of happiness which, I will get after achieving my good healthy body.
  • Customization of plate and physical activity: Addition of rainbow color to my everyday healthy eating plate. I do more focus on consumption of fresh seasonal fruits and vegetables along with making small roof garden and planting of short duration crops by which I got engaged myself in gardening practices, which ultimately helps me in enhancing my physical activity and it also provides me fresh plant products.


During this lockdown its worth to do something good for your own health, at last one thing keeps buzzing on my mind that, I cant control everything but I can control, what I put on my plate. If you will make your heart happy, your heart ultimately makes you happy. Choice is yours acknowledge it, and try to make changes slowly.
